Sunday, 5th of October almost 500 guests visited EnTranCe during Zpannend Zernike. Zpannend Zernike is organised as part of the ‘Science Weekend’. During the science weekend 185 locations throughout the Netherlands opened their doors.
The topic at EnTranCe was energy and movement. All the activities that were planned had something to do with this topic. Children could make their own smoothie by using their own energy, make their own cup, measure the windmills around the facility and taste the ‘Zpannende Chocolade’. The special ingredient that was added to this chocolate was omega 3.
At the garage of the Hanze Racing Division the kids were able to race in a simulator car, soldering their own led light together with the team from the institute of Engineering from the Hanzehogeschool of Applied Sciences.
As a part of the guided tour around the facility, one could learn more about sustainable mobility by Energy Expo. Energy Expo demonstrated three different sustainable cars including a car on electricity and a car on green gas.
