Monday the 17th of March the opening of the Solar Energy Knowledge Centre (SEKC) took place. During the opening Paul Gesink, president of the SEKC, gave a presentation about the SEKC. Also, the word was given to the representatives of Gemeente Groningen, Sunrenity and EnTranCe where they explained their ambitions and interests in the SEKC project. City Council Member Joost van Keulen connected the first solar panel together with Paul Gesink. The Solar Energy Knowledge Centre will serve as testing facility, training facility and a platform with all sorts of information based on findings about all kinds of solar panels. Currently, the Solar Energy Knowledge Centre is on the preparation phase, the official opening of the center is planned to be at the end of July – beginning of August 2014.
