Already for the fifth time, the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen is visiting the Hannover Messe. This year the focus lies on the subjects hydrogen and innovation. On Tuesday, April 25th, the Hanze University of Groningen organizes a bus trip to the Hannover Messe in cooperation with the Companies Association WEST and the municipality of Groningen.
New lector for energy transition invites to talk about hydrogen
Klaas Jan Noorman, since April 2017 the new lector for energy transition at the Centre of Expertise Energy, invites colleagues to join him for a few days at the Hannover Messe to get the newest insights in technical developments in the field of energy and research. The focus of the excursion lies this year on the topic of hydrogen. Hydrogen is one of the subthemes of one of the main research themes within the Centre of Expertise Energy: Alternative (transport and production of) gases & hybrid fuels. Hereby, integrating local production and storage of heat and power by means of modeling and demonstration, control strategy and implementation possibilities and the use of hydrogen are being looked at. Several projects carried out at the CoE Energy, such as Power2Flex (Experiments on house, mobility and small industrial level) and FlexNode (efficiency improvement of reversible fuel cells), are related to this topic. On Wednesday the group will further participate in a guided tour given by environmental minister of Lower Saxony, Stefan Wensel.
A bus tour with entrepreneurs, researchers and students
Next to the delegation of the Centre of Expertise Energy, and for the first time, the Hanze UAS is organizing a day-long bus tour to the Hannover Messe on Tuesday, 25th April. This tour is organized in cooperation with the Bedrijvenvereniging WEST and the Gemeente Groningen. In the busses a mixed group of entrepreneurs from Groningen, researchers and lecturers from different schools (Engineering, Centre of Expertise Energy) of the Hanze UAS, and students from different educations (energy masters, ICT, mechanical engineering), both national and international, will take the opportunity to experience the world’s biggest industrial fair from up close. A special focus herby lies on the newest innovations presented at the fair.
Health Hub Roden present in the Holland Holland Hightech House
The Northern Netherlands has its own stand at the Hannover Fair in the Holland Hightech House. The northern companies, including many startups and the Health Hub Roden present themselves as main suppliers of smart solutions for complex social issues involving software and high-tech technology. The Northern Exhibition is set up around three spearheads: Smart Cities, Smart Health and Smart Factories.
The Hannover Messe is the world’s biggest industrial fair. Typically, there are about 6,500 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors. For the Hanze UAS it is already the fifth time to visit the fair.
