New Supervisory Board for innovative building center BuildinG

Knowledge- and innovationcentre BuildinG in Groningen will continue as an independent foundation with its own Supervisory Board. The innovative building center is set up in 2016 by the Economic Board Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, Bouwend Nederland and TNO. The Supervisory Board consists of chairwoman Betty de Boer (politica), Mike Hacking (Dean of the School for Architecture, Construction and Civil Engineering of Hanze UAS) and Marko Kamminga (entrepreneur). Rolf Koops has been appointed as director of building.

BuildinG (Build in Groningen), located at the Zernike Campus in Groningen, is the knowledge- and innovationcenter for earthquakes- and futureproof building in the North. New products are being tested and developed here, and can be used in North-Groningen and beyond. BuildinG is the place where entrepreneurs, researchers, customers and governments work together with the aim to make Groningen stronger through building innovation. Hereby, the wishes of the residents are at the center

In November, the construction of the test hall started. In this hall, activities will take place in the field of testing and validation, there is room for practical education and there will be a permanent demonstration- and informationspace. In addition, the hall receives a networkfunction.
