Innovative energy network for more sustainability at Ameland

The municipality Ameland will develop an innovative energy network together with residents, companies and local parties. Such a network, which continuously converts demand and supply of renewable energy, is needed for the truly sustainable energy supply that the island is aiming for. What makes it special is that such a plan is developed for one whole area. In order to realize this smart energy network, the municipality of Ameland has applied for the experimental status at Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. This plan is an initiative of the partners of the Ameland Covenant (Ameland, Eneco, GasTerra, Hanzehogeschool Groningen / EnTranCe, Liander, NAM, Philips Lighting and TNO).
