Energy Excursion: Economics of Energy

Who decides how much we pay for electricity? How do we balance demand and supply?

Join the Energy Academy Europe on May 19 to visit the Amsterdam Power Exchange (APX) and the main office of GDF SUEZ in Zwolle. APX is Europe’s primary provider of power exchange and clearing services for the wholesale market, operating transparent platforms in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Belgium. As an experienced and innovative European energy exchange, they offer an efficient, transparent and secure electronic trading environment and provide market data for use by traders, energy suppliers and energy-intensive industries. GDF SUEZ is an energy supplier only for the business market. They do not only supply the energy, but they also develop energy solutions fitting for any company, small or big.

This whole-day excursion is organized by Prof. Machiel Mulder of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen in collaboration with the Energy Academy Europe. Are you interested in the economics of electricity markets and student of the RUG or Hanze? Join us!
Since there are only 20 places available, we encourage you to register as soon as possible for this unique opportunity! The event is free of charge and includes dinner and transportation.
