An above-ground heat network runs through EnTranCe's experimental garden, which, among other things, heats the main building. If you carry out a trial that generates heat on the experimental site, you can 'lose' this heat to the heat network. At the moment, one of the heat suppliers for this heat network is the Hydrogreenn Hoogeveen project. Three hydrogen central heating boilers are being tested here, which supply heat to our heat network on a daily basis.
On Monday the 2nd of march in 2020 and after 2 years and a half of studying, a practical period of my life has been started. This period when a student gets the opportunity to have a real world experience outside the campus. A period of a five month internship that enables me to gain first hand exposure of working in the real life, when I can sharpen my skills and knowledge and gain new experiences.
For the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, energy is one of three primary areas of focus in educational courses and research. The university offers several masters and minors that specialize in energy-related topics. The first year students of our Energy master's programmes got an introduction into the field of energy during the Energy Kick Start Week.
My internship as a communication student at EnTranCe began back in March 2020 and it did not go as expected. In the first couple of weeks everything started out quite normal and I spent my time getting to know my supervisor and my tasks. I divided my time between two major projects: the profiling of EnTranCe and the Green Hydrogen Booster project.
