Last month, the Indian professor Anupam Saraph, visited EnTranCe and introduced students and researchers into the concepts of Future Design and System Dynamics Modeling. We asked him a couple of questions about these concepts and their relation to the energy transition.

Hanze UAS receives grants for two European projects

Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen has received a total of €3.7 million in grants from INTERREG Europe, an initiative that supports interregional collaboration throughout Europe. The grants will fund two large multi-year projects led by Klaas Jan Noorman, professor of Energy Transition, and Willem Foorthuis, professor of Sustainable Cooperative Entrepreneurship.

New professorship studies behaviour and communication for a sustainable society

Social, communicative and behavioural aspects are indispensable if the transition to a more sustainable society is to succeed. This message is conveyed by Dr Carina Wiekens and Dr Wim Elving. They investigate communicative and social processes as well as behavioural change in light of the transition to a greener society at their Communication, Behaviour & The Sustainable Society professorship. On Thursday 24 January, both will be officially inaugurated as professors of Hanze UAS by Mr H.J. Pijlman, Chair of the Executive Board.

EnTranCe to house Hydrohub hydrogen centre

The hydrogen consortium of the Institute for Sustainable Process Technology (ISPT) has made it its mission to competitively produce hydrogen on a large scale for industrial use, without CO2 emissions, by 2030. To this end, researchers will use a new centre, the Hydrohub, to test and develop an industrial-scale hydrogen production unit. The Hydrohub national test centre will have its home at EnTranCe, the Centre of Expertise Energy of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen.
